Wool Batt Spinning Bundle ~ "Gaia"

Gaia in February is a sleeping beauty, earthy hues flecked with greens, golds, and ochres with wisps of snow white streaking through the layers.

Wool Maiden selects the finest combinations of luxuriously soft combed tops to create a one-of-a-kind spinning batt that is paired with two woolly braids.

The spinning bundle consists of a total of 5 oz (142 grams) of wool :

3 oz (85 grams) : A generous spinning batt of Haunui combed top, Tussah Silk, Masham, Cheviot, Baby Alpaca, Merino, Shetland, and Merino Alpaca.  This has passed through the drum carder twice so it is not fully or evenly blended allowing for subtle nuances as you spin, creating a yarn full of individuality and character.

1 oz (28 grams) : A luxuriously soft braid of Haunui wool; earthy brown.

1 oz (28 grams) : A super soft braid of exquisite Haunui wool; rich brown black coloured.

 

With the total 5 oz (1 grams) of fibre...depending on how you spin, there may be enough fibre to make one pair of regular socks; or enough to make a hat.

 

*Combed wool top is processed fine wool in which the fibres are combed in a parallel direction resulting in a finished, smooth top, free of noils or shorter fibres.  This helps make your spinning faster and rather effortless, with the ability to produce a finer, thinner yarn.

Gently hand wash once the fibres have been made into yarn or felted, and then wash in lukewarm water and lay flat to dry, out of direct sunlight.
