A Pocket Full of Posies bundle consists of five mini skeins of yarn from Gabriel who is a combination of three British breeds.  Altogether, there is a total of 400 metres (437 yards) of 3 ply Fingering weight yarn!

Gabriel is a ram from an Albertan fibre farm, and he is a cross between Romney (soft, and semi-lustrous), Dorset (springy and high-quality), and Clun Forest (dense coat but lofty handle).  All these qualities have combined into a strong yet soft yarn with good memory and a slight lustre...and it soaked up the natural dyes beautifully!

A Pocket Full of Posies set of five mini skeins is an ideal choice for colourwork in any sweater, shawl, hat, or mittens.  Choosing an undyed yarn will particularly highlight these earthy tones, all botanically dyed.  Alternatively, there is enough yardage here to make a patterned hat using this bundle alone.  Either way, Gabriel's complementary colour choices will surely brighten any garment you create.

Notes :

While most of our wool is grown right here on our little farm, some wool used in Wool Maiden products is sourced from other reputable farms.  Gabriel is a ram from a farm in Alberta and then shipped off for processing to a family-run mill in Alberta.  You can be sure that your yarn has been handled with love in all stages of its production.

Due to the slow method of transforming raw wool into yarn, each small batch is one of a kind and will reference the individual sheep who grew the fibre.  Our yarn is sustainably and naturally dyed using mostly homegrown and locally harvested plants.  Hand dyeing with natural dyes leaves room for subtle differences in dye lots so please ensure you purchase the right amount for your project.  It is a good idea to alternate rows when you move from skein to skein to ensure a smooth transition.

Enjoy using Gabriel's Mini Bundle.  We hope that the garment you create brings great joy and perhaps becomes an heirloom piece in your wardrobe.

Please understand that all attempts have been made to accurately photograph the colour of this yarn.  Due to the range of individual settings on computers, there may be unavoidable colour variance.
