Harriet ~ 70% Alpaca 30% wool ~ undyed ~ Worsted weight ~ 226 metres (247 yards)

Harriet's yarn is a collaboration between an alpaca and a sheep, creating a very warm, cozy skein of yarn that is equally soft and squishy.  It was spun into a 2 ply Worsted weight with a generous 226 metres (247 yards).

Alpaca yarn is a beautifully soft as well as hypoallergenic and very warm.  Blended with  wool, Harriet's yarn combines both the softness, durability, warmth, and springiness that you'd expect from both alpaca and sheep.

Both the alpaca and the sheep live at the Hamilton Farm outside of Nelson, BC.  Their farm is one of the oldest in the area and now, the grandchildren are tending the flock.  Upon visiting their beautiful farm, it is apparent how much they love their animals.

Harriet's yarn is lofty and wonderfully squishy soft, making it the perfect choice for warm and cozy next-to-your-skin garments.  A hardwearing sweater would be ideal in Harriet's yarn.

Notes :

This wool was grown by an alpaca and a sheep on a local farm near Nelson, BC and processed at a family-run fibre mill in Carstairs, Alberta.  You can be sure that your yarn has been handled with love in all stages of its production.

Due to the slow method of transforming raw wool into yarn, each small batch is one of a kind and will reference the individual sheep who grew the fibre.  Please ensure you purchase the right amount for your project as given the nature of small batch yarn, there may be variations in fleeces from year to year.

Enjoy using this Canadian farm raised yarn from Harriet.  We hope that the garment you create brings great joy and perhaps becomes an heirloom piece in your wardrobe.
